about

I wrote this song after the death of my godmother. I’ve always been an incredibly spiritual person, but unsure about God, but after she died I felt I could commune with her. This song is me questioning that connection and religion in general.

lyrics

Something in me changed
I wake up everyday
Drawn to the light, I give thanks

I don’t know about this “God”
But something I feel that is strong
I pray daily sometimes just to myself

Or is it to you?
Is it to you?
Is it to you?

I decided it doesn’t matter
Through all the noise and all the chatter
If anyone else is listening

But is it you? Or somebody different?
Is it you? Or somebody different?
Did I commune? Did I come through? Did I commune?
Is it you?

Now I don’t have no faith or bible
I’m living just for survival
But I feel a presence with me in this room

Now could it be you?
Could it be you?
Could it be you?
You
